Fundraising Advisory at Noch Consulting: What We Do and Who We Work With
Raising capital takes more than a strong product and a polished presentation. A founder needs a credible investment case, the right investor conversations, and the ability to move those conversations forward.
A hands-on fundraising partner
Noch Consulting works alongside selected founders to help bring those elements together. Led by Joel Guerrero, our approach combines fundraising preparation, direct investor introductions, pitch coaching, and practical support as a round develops.
Our work begins with a decision we take seriously: whether we are the right partner for the company.
Selectivity is the foundation of our fundraising approach
We are deliberately selective about the companies we represent. Before accepting an engagement, we assess whether the opportunity fits the investors we actually know and whether we have enough conviction to present it personally.
We look at the founder, business, traction, capital requirements, and proposed round. We ask which relationships in our network could be relevant, why those investors would consider the company, and what needs to be addressed before we approach them.
This is a commercial decision about where we can be effective. A company can be promising and still fall outside our network's current interests or our ability to contribute. In that situation, accepting the engagement would serve neither side well.
Our view is that better selection improves the prospects of a successful raise. It concentrates our time on opportunities we understand, believe in, and can introduce with a credible reason for the investor to engage. It also protects the relationships that make our work possible.
Selectivity is how we approach the work with conviction, month after month. It strengthens the conditions for success; the final investment decision remains with each investor.
Turning the business into a clear investment case
Founders often understand their products more deeply than anyone else. The challenge is translating that understanding into an opportunity an investor can evaluate.
We help founders explain the market, business model, traction, competitive position, and growth potential. We examine the proposed raise: how much capital is needed, what it will fund, and what progress the company expects to achieve.
This work often exposes questions that need attention before introductions begin. A revenue forecast may lack supporting assumptions. The proposed use of funds may be too broad. A technical story may explain the product without showing its commercial significance.
Addressing those gaps helps the founder enter conversations with a more coherent and defensible case.
Preparing the materials behind the story
Investor confidence depends partly on whether the supporting information stands up to scrutiny.
Depending on the company, preparation may involve reviewing the pitch deck, financial model, traction metrics, cap table, funding history, use of funds, and data room.
Founders should bring the materials they have already developed. We assess what is usable, what needs improvement, and what is missing. Additional paid work to build or develop documents can be agreed where needed.
The purpose is to make the company easier to understand and evaluate. The founder remains responsible for the underlying facts and figures, with legal and accounting professionals handling the appropriate specialist work.

We present opportunities to investors we already know
Noch Consulting's investor introductions are relationship-led. We present opportunities directly to investors in our existing network, including investors with whom Joel has previously done deals or shared opportunities.
This is not an email-marketing service, a cold LinkedIn messaging campaign, or the sale of an investor list. Email may be used to coordinate a conversation, but the value is the existing relationship, our understanding of the investor, and Joel's personal presentation of the opportunity.
We assess the company's fit with those relationships: sector, stage, investment size, geography, and current appetite. We then explain why the company may be relevant and establish context before bringing the founder into the discussion.
Joel is putting his judgment and relationships behind the introduction. That is why the selection process and preparation matter so much. We need to understand the business, believe in the opportunity, and be ready to discuss the questions investors are likely to raise.
Existing relationships help open a substantive conversation. The founder still needs to demonstrate command of the business, build rapport, and support the investment case with evidence.
Supporting the founder in the room
We help founders prepare for those conversations through pitch practice, challenging questions, and discussion of likely objections.
Under the agreed engagement, Joel can also participate in investor meetings. His involvement can help maintain context, clarify aspects of the opportunity, and support the founder as the conversation develops.
After meetings, we discuss feedback and next steps. Repeated questions can reveal something important: an unclear explanation, an unsupported assumption, or a business issue that needs a direct response.

Our focus
Noch Consulting primarily supports early-stage and smaller private rounds, including seed, bridge, and strategic capital raises, often from a few hundred thousand dollars to several million dollars.
Joel also brings broader experience from work with companies connected to larger institutional financings. The appropriate engagement depends on the company, its needs, and the relevance of our experience and relationships.
